It is proposed that the Supreme Court takes thepower to make laws and set policies which rightfully belongs to the coitus and evidence legislatures. They state that Justices exceed their authorized powers of judicial reviewand read their own opinions and views into the Constitution and are in fact politicians in robes (Woll 533, Sheldon xi).Alexander Hamiltons definiton of the Supreme Courts power of judicial review was argued in Federalist No. 78. He states that the main purpose of this power is a balk ont he legislature where the Supreme Court is an excellent barrier to the encroachments and oppressions of therepresentative body ... to secure a steady, upright, and impartial administration of the laws. He also gives the Supreme Court the power to rule on state laws by judging them against the Constitution But the act of an original and superior authority takes precedence over that of a derivative and subordinate one, and so settle must adhere to the Constitution before a statute (Wolfe 74-75). Hamilton sets the power definition of the Court with those lines.Many feel that the fears of the Court taking power from the legislative and executive branches are unfounded on the basis that the Court is too weak to do so. The Prince What is Machiavellis view of human nature? While reading The Prince, I have come to a conclusion that Machiavelli demonstrates a view of governing a put forward that is so different from that of humanists of his time thought. The humanists of Machiavellis time believed that an individual had a lot to offer to the rise being of the state and should be able to help in whatever way necessary. Humanists also believed that an individual grew to maturity through participation in the state and understanding in what was taking place in the state. Machiavelli strongly promoted a secular society and felt morality was not necessary but in fact stood in the way of an nubively governed principality. Machiavelli believes the ruling Prince should be the sole authority determining every aspect of the state and put in effect a policy which would serve his best interests. These interests dealt with gaining and expanding his political indicant. In other words, he felt the best and appro priate way to live was how the prince wanted us to live. Just to point this out (so I get the whole 2.5 this time) Machiavelli did not feel that a Prince should mistreat the citizens. Machiavelli goes on to talk about honor and how iodine can gain such an element (hanging out with me and Derek will help out, but then again, we werent around during that time). He suggests that a prince must be quick willing to deceive the citizens, afterall, he is the head honcho. Machiavelli also brings up the point that a prince must also deceive those who attempt to make him feel considerably (Maybe because they were trying to take advantage of him). As I stated previously, he promotes a secular form of politics. His views were to the benefit of the prince, in helping him maintain power rather than to serve to the well being of the citizens.
